Scottish Thistle Awards - 16th March
Since its creation in 1992, the Scottish Thistle Awards has been led and delivered by VisitScotland. However, extensive industry research has shown that Scotland’s tourism product has become more diverse and wide ranging. In order to ensure all aspects are appropriately represented, the awards are now being led by a leadership panel comprising of several organisations including VisitScotland, the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance, Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards and the Scottish Licensed Trade Association.

The Awards will continue to recognise and celebrate excellence within the industry but the panel will ensure that each of their organisations supports and develops the awards, ensuring greater breadth of support and sponsorship from across the industry. This exciting change means for the first time members of the industry will now play a key role in recognising and honouring the success of individuals and businesses. Nominations can be made across 13 categories, selected in relation to the Tourism Scotland 2020 strategy, creating growth and unity within the industry. VisitScotland will continue to deliver the awards, as per the strategic direction established by the Industry Panel.
