What do you think are the greatest opportunities for the Scottish tourism, retail and hospitality industries in 2025?
- In 2025, Scottish tourism, retail, and hospitality can capitalize on sustainable tourism, luxury travel, and domestic tourism growth. Digital technology for enhanced visitor experiences, revitalizing cultural heritage through events, and improving workforce appeal are key. Retail can focus on unique Scottish products, enhancing the shopping experience. Marketing Scotland as a year-round destination, alongside improved infrastructure for accessibility, will attract diverse visitors. These opportunities align with global trends towards eco-conscious and experiential travel, all while leveraging Scotland's rich cultural and World renowned produce.
What are you looking most forward to seeing, meeting, or attending at ScotHot?
- I'm massively looking forward to Scothot 2025, I always find it a great place for networking with piers and other businesses. I really enjoy the vast amount of suppliers there also which helps me find new products and opportunities for my group. Everything from equipment suppliers to salt suppliers. I will be on stage with Scotland Tourism Alliance doing a Q&A with Marc which i am definitely looking forward to. I also do enjoy watching and being part of the cooking demonstrations.
Why do you think events like ScotHot are important to the industry?
- Events like Scothot are key to our sector to help showcase our suppliers, give young students opportunities to participae in the competitions, networking and just having a great couple of days with people who understand what we do every day. Sometimes we are in our own bubbles in the Hospitality industry so it's great to get together.
