What do you think are the greatest opportunities for the Scottish tourism, retail and hospitality industries in 2027?
My thoughts are the industry is made up of so many icons, with amazing longevity to support something they believe in from the range of specialists who keep nurturing the hidden talent that supports the Scottish industry. Scotland is unique with the famous quote, (the best larder in the world). Also it attracts a lot major companies who invest and believe that we have many solid attributes in making our wee country a global destination.
What are you looking most forward to seeing, meeting, or attending at ScotHot?
Its always a fabulous show to attend because of the interest and innovation of many companies who believe in attending an institution with a reputation to uphold especially with the Scottish culinary championships, but overall, it’s a massive networking magnet and a great camaraderie of the people who all believe in our wonderful hospitality industry, its also a tracker for the opportunity of encouraging and attracting the next generation of talent especially with the showcase events within the show.
Why do you think events like ScotHot are important to the industry?
It plays a significant major role in supporting relationships with all the wonderful suppliers. From the technology, the craft side , the new set-up for kitchens restaurants etc. It leads to helping find the talent who believe in a career with the great connections and getting that opportunity to shine through with fabulous employers and craftsmen. Also big support for the Scottish economy.
